Abstract
Patriotism is one of the critical concepts of significant consideration for poets in different periods of Persian poetry. This study aims to investigate the sense of patriotism in Persian poetry and literature using the meta-synthesis technique.
The present study is a sort of applied research with a qualitative systematic review method and meta-synthesis technique. The statistical population of the present study includes research conducted with the keyword “Patriotism” and its various synonyms in the titles of articles from 2009 to 2021. Twenty articles were signed off.
The findings showed that 142 codes were obtained in the first coding stage. These codes were placed in 13 components, including, National identity, nationalism, patriotism, foresight, unity and solidarity, libertarianism, justice, struggle, struggle and perseverance, struggle against tyranny, struggle against colonialism, peace and friendship, and awakening of the people and were also categorized in 6 dimensions (nationalism, consolidation, democracy, struggle, and endurance, pacifism, and insight).
“Nationalism,” with 37 frequencies, is in the first, “freedom” with 18, and “fighting against tyranny” with 17 frequencies are, in the next ranks. Iran's historical experiences explain the reasons for this frequency of repetition. Iranian people have always sought to preserve the land and have always tried to establish the territorial integrity of Iran with a sense of freedom and battle against tyranny.
