Abstract

Based on the research conducted, the following results were obtained:
At the descriptive level, both poets have used words and phrases that are appropriate to their purpose and, overall, have employed eloquent, purposeful, ideological, and uncomplicated linguistic structures for their audience.
At the interpretive level, the situational context, political and religious factors have played a role in the creation of these poems. The discourse type of the poems of both poets is nationalistic. The discourse of fighters and martyrs is common in the poems of both poets, while the feminine discourse is more prevalent in Khaliili's poems and the opposing discourse is more prominent in Shawqi's poems.
At the explanatory level, the discourse of Khaliili and Shawqi's poems, by presenting an ideological, religious, epic, and motivational discourse, seeks to raise awareness, create a sense of struggle against colonialists among compatriots, and ultimately to change the power structures and dominant ideology of society.
