Abstract

The consequences of wars are not only specific to the fighters of wars but all inhabitants of warring territories are influenced. Art and literature also use the phenomenon of war as a rich inspiration. Given the cultural and ideological discrepancies among warring countries, it must be seen how each nation visualizes the reality of war in its literature; hence, the comparative analysis of the novels of Louis-Ferdinand Céline’s “Journey to the End of the Night” and Smaeil Fasih’s “Winter 62” can show the components of resistance literature and the image of war beautifully. With the question of what similarities and discrepancies are among the components of resistance literature (homeland, religion, martyrdom, inviting to fight and resistance, describing the enemy’s crimes and oppression, and hope for the future) in the works of these two authors, and applying a descriptive-analytical method, this research examined the components of resistance literature in these two novels. For this purpose, the  resistance components were firstly defined; then, studying the context of novels, the sections connected to these components were identified, codified, compared, and analyzed. Given the spread of the components, only seven items were discussed.
