Schematic Analysis of Horizontal Movement in Poems of Stability in the Sixties

Abstract

The horizontal movement schema is a metaphorical conceptualization based on the embodied experience of movement, which is depicted in a straight line and depicts abstract situations as a movement in the horizontal direction of time. This schema shows the concept of "nation-people" in the poetry of the 60s as a continuous entity in the progressive movement.
Conceptual elements in the current research are located and directed based on the metaphor of "homeland as a footprint" in three points of origin, path, and destination; in this way, the nation's progressive movement starts from the point of "I" and reaches the point of "We" with the help of a travel guide that highlights the concept of leadership. The "I-We" metaphor in an event-driven reading leads to the sanctification of the concept of martyrdom with a value between "staying" and "going".
The findings of this research show that the megametaphor of "martyrdom is the eternal way" values ​​excellence as a group journey in the context of "past", "present", and "future". The past shows historical events as the distance travelled, the present is a crossroads, and the future is visualized as a clear horizon in the distance ahead.
