Abstract

Contemporary Afghan poetry of stability after the seventh coup in 1978 paved the way for the formation of different poetic movements. Each poet interpreted poetry based on his own idealistic political and social ideas and used color symbols to express his personal feelings and emotions. They created images and conveyed real concepts to express sensual beauties and, given their symbolic aspect, they drew abstract and ironic meanings in their poems. The aim of this article is to examine and analyze the content of color symbols in Qahar Asi's poems. The data collection method for this research is a library that is organized with a descriptive-analytical method. The research data indicate that in Qahar Asi's poetry, the colors red, yellow, purple, black, gray, and white have a higher frequency, and considering the theme of stability in his poems, it can be concluded that each of the colors symbolically instills meanings and concepts; The colors red mean martyrdom, martyrdom, and social unrest, and the colors yellow and purple mean despair and hopelessness, and the colors black, gray, and white show the poet's serious disgust with the atmosphere of tyranny, terror, destruction, and the desire for intimacy, innocence, and purity. It also became clear that colors are of particular importance in reflecting the poet's feelings about the fate of the people.
