Political and social transformations in the Middle East and popular movements across Arab countries reflect contemporary struggles for freedom and resistance against domination and occupation. Among these, the Palestinian issue, as the central site of confrontation with occupation, manifests the concepts of awakening and collective identity more prominently than any other region. Palestinian poetry, particularly the works of Mu’in Bseiso, not only mirrors the pains, aspirations, and historical experiences of the Palestinian people but also provides an active space for the representation and reconstruction of their collective identity. This study, adopting a descriptive-analytical approach grounded in Stuart Hall’s theory of cultural identity and representation, examines how Palestinian identity is formed and articulated in Bseiso’s poetry. Findings indicate that through symbolic language and the integration of love for the homeland, exile, sacrifice, martyrdom, and resistance, the poet portrays Palestinian identity not as a static entity but as a dynamic, evolving process. The blood of martyrs, experiences of displacement, and active resistance against oppression are depicted as essential elements of collective identity. Bseiso’s poetry transcends individual expression, combining literary aesthetics with political activism to consolidate and transmit Palestinian collective identity across generations. These works demonstrate that literature can serve as an effective tool for confronting occupation, sustaining national resistance, fostering a sense of belonging and collective engagement, and shaping hope, resilience, and a lasting identity for the future of the Palestinian nation.
