The qasida “Ṭūfān al-Aqṣā”, by drawing on its linguistic and structural capacities, represents manifestations of cultural, identity-based, and semantic resilience. According to Riffaterre’s theory, resilience in literature refers to the text’s ability to preserve meaning, imagery, and structural coherence over time. This study adopts a descriptive–analytical method based on Riffaterre’s semiotic model. First, an initial reading examines the manifestations of resilience in the qasida “Ṭūfān al-Aqṣā”; subsequently, through a retroactive (secondary) reading, the poetic significations hidden in the deeper layers of the text are uncovered.
An analysis of the hypograms and linguistic combinations of the qasida shows that, by employing symbolic patterns, phonetic and imagistic repetition, and robust semantic structures, the poet has succeeded in portraying cultural resistance and the continuity of collective identity in the face of crises and social transformations. The findings indicate that “Ṭūfān al-Aqṣā” is not merely a literary work, but a living example of the representation of semantic and cultural resilience in contemporary classical poetry. Through various structural and retroactive operations, accumulation, and hypogrammatic formations, the poem centers its focus on Palestine and resistance, depicting the characteristics of resistance. The most significant matrix themes of this work include resistance, Palestine, patience, hope, perseverance, and the purification of oppression, all of which are intertwined with the concept of jihad. In this poem, jihad and resistance are represented as the end of oppression and the raising of the banner of freedom.
