Resistance literature in contemporary Persian poetry, especially in the works of poets such as Professor Shahriar, has played an important role in reflecting Islamic teachings related to defense and stability. Despite numerous studies on the religious and revolutionary themes of Shahriar’s poetry, how to systematically transform the jurisprudential and theological teachings of resistance into poetic expression based on a specific theoretical framework, especially the intertextual approach, has been less studied. The main issue of this research is how and through what intertextual mechanisms the Islamic teachings of resistance, especially concepts such as the obligation to defend, seeking martyrdom, negation of humiliation, and fighting against oppression, are represented in Shahriar’s poetry.
This research, using an analytical-descriptive method and utilizing the theory of intertextuality, analyzes the interaction of Shahriar’s poetry with religious pretexts including the Holy Quran, Sunnah, the jurisprudence of jihad, and the contemporary jurisprudential discourse of resistance. The necessity of the present research is due, on the one hand, to the methodological vacuum in the studies of the literature of sustainability, and, on the other hand, to the importance of explaining the role of literature in the transmission and institutionalization of religious teachings of resistance in the contemporary socio-cultural context.
The findings of the research show that Professor Shahriar's poetry has a theological-jurisprudential structure and recreates the fundamental concepts of Islamic resistance not in a purely didactic manner, but through techniques such as allusion, symbolism, artistic adaptation, mystical imagery, and epic language.
