The present study aimed to analyze the semiotic process of the metamorphosis of clothing into epic armor by employing an integrated theoretical framework derived from the thought of Landowski, Tarasti, and Shairi. Bridging the gap between general semiotics of dress and resistance studies, the research explored how the non-military attire of fighters is transcended from a mere object into a phenomenal quasi-subject. The analysis of three selected photographs of the Palestinian struggle revealed three patterns of metamorphosis: reverse invulnerability, in which nakedness itself becomes armor; the keffiyeh as helmet, which, through the event of meaning, turns into the hero's mask; and the superhero cape, in which the national flag, along with other elements, transforms into personal armor. These metamorphoses demonstrate that, unlike the military uniform, resistance clothing arises not from programmatic action but from sensory adjustment to the discursive situation of battle and lived experience, manifesting the concepts of sacrifice, immortality, and resistance by becoming a transcendental quasi-subject within the ontological horizon of the audience. By integrating the concepts of Dasein, transcendence, and the discourses of accident and adjustment, the study emphasizes that epic meaning is formed not in the objects themselves but in the phenomenal relationship between body, symbol, and the surrounding world. Thus, Palestinian resistance attire is elevated from a local subculture into a global language for representing rights-seeking struggle.
