. This concept rests on four interconnected components: truth-telling, frankness of speech, risk-taking, and ethical commitment; and it takes shape through an asymmetrical relationship between a subordinate speaker and a dominant addressee. The novel (Sad Moon, Red Moon) by Reza Joulayi, by recreating the life and fate of Mirzadeh Eshghi, the poet and militant journalist of the Constitutional era, provides a rich ground for rereading this type of risk-taking truth-telling in Persian literature. This research aims to analyze the manifestations of resistance in this novel based on the Foucauldian concept of parrhesia, and seeks to show how Eshghi's actions, speeches, and fate represent diverse configurations of intellectual resistance against structures of power. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on a qualitative reading of the text; accordingly, selected scenes and speeches from the novel have been extracted and analyzed based on Foucault's theoretical framework. The findings show that parrhesia in this novel is represented not uniformly, but across a spectrum of configurations: from autonomous truth-telling and Eshghi's direct confrontation with agents of power, to the institutionalization of repression in the form of imprisonment, in-group criticism from political companions, and finally the embodiment of truth in his radical way of life. Accordingly, resistance in Joulayi's novel goes beyond the level of mere political defiance and becomes a form of fidelity to truth, refusal to compromise with power, and acceptance of risk on the path of exposing tyranny.
