Resistance Literature, founded upon the two core concepts of “withstanding” and “defending”, each encompassing a broad range of subcategories, blends the three elements of reality, imagination, and myth. While immortalizing the memory and legacy of great national and global heroes, it incorporates a significant body of universal themes that constitute a source of pride and honor for humankind. Despite valuable efforts by scholars and theorists to introduce and understand the nature of Resistance Literature, this literary facet still holds many unexplored aspects, and new insights may continue to emerge through shifts in perspectives. This circumstance stems from the magnitude and significance of this literary genre, which is rooted in the innate human disposition to oppose oppression. Accordingly, the present study, utilizing a qualitative content analysis method and relying on shared and recurring themes, sought to elucidate its defining characteristics and to demonstrate the extent to which Resistance Literature, with its profound historical background, can foster empathy and solidarity among nations that have experienced similar circumstances, thereby contributing to both national cohesion and the global unity of all freedom-seeking peoples. The findings of this study indicated that, regardless of the differences arising from the geographical and cultural contexts of its emergence among various peoples and nations, Resistance Literature is a committed and ethically-oriented literature that is religious, political, audience-centered, and realistic in nature. It may, therefore, be regarded as a continuation of action and struggle in real-world arenas. Through a language that is at once simple, symbolic, and comprehensive, this literature has produced multifaceted and profound works and has offered them to the world.
